Among trees, as if it were a forest, in the middle of mountains and surrounded by rivers, was the town Rincon Escondido. Marcos lived there with his father, mother, little brother, and grandmother Tina. Marcos was an intelligent boy with a lot of determination.

From a very young age he wanted to go to school, but in Rincon Escondido there was no school nearby. However, he went out every day to take care of the animals that the family had and he talked to everyone about his desire to go to school.

He wants to learn to read and write, so he insisted that his parents take him to school. His grandmother Tina joined Marcos to convince his parents to take him to a school. After much insistence by Marcos and Grandma Tina his parents agreed to take him to school.

The problem was that they had to walk a lot and leave home very early. In addition, they had to cross mountains, rivers and ravines to get to school. Marcos was determined to walk a lot, get up early, and traverse mountains and rivers and ravines in order to go to school.

His first day of going to school, he got up very early in the morning and his father accompanied him on the trip. Although Marcos insisted: "Dad, I can go alone" the dad wanted to be sure that Marcos would get to school well. The road was dangerous, and very long that is why cars did not enter because there was no road.

On his journey to school, he first had to cross the river. Marcos got into the river and began to swim. Although the current was strong, he swam stronger because he was driven by the desire to go to school and learn.

Then, they went up and down mountains with their wet clothes and the dust stuck to their shoes and clothes. But this did not discourage him from continuing on his way to school. On the contrary, he was more excited to know that in a few miles he would arrive at school.
