BAM! POW!! Landing on Sally’s back, I laughed at the look on my sister cub’s face. 

“DJ get off of me that hurts!!!” Sally whined, standing back up on her four paws. 

“Time to go hunt!” respond our mom, gathering her three cubs together. “But I’m too tired to hunt,” whined Sally again, looking at her mom. 

“Yeah but you have to,” sighed DK.  

“Why don’t we just go already?” I said, anxiously bouncing in place. 

Today was the first day that mom was taking us with her to learn how to hunt. I couldn’t wait. I’ve been waiting my whole life, 9 whole months for this! I've been practicing my pouncing and fetching

leaves. 

As the sun went behind the trees, I excitedly went ahead of my mom  and ran towards the deer. “DJ wait!!!” gasped DK and Sally. 

“I’m just getting ready to pounce but I’m going to wait,” I yelled back. 

Inching closer to the deer, staying as low to the ground as possible, I leaped forward.

BAM!!  A sharp pain hit me right in my side.

“What was that?” asked Sally. 

“The deer just kicked DJ!!”  taunted DK . “Hey! That’s not funny,” I complained, running back  to the group as the deer ran off the other way.

Moving deeper into the dark jungle, something

moved in front of us in the bushes. 

“Look a rabbit,” whispered our mom. “Stay back and I will catch it”. 

Running towards the rabbit and jumping, our mom pounced on the rabbit.

Suddenly, the bushes, grass and tree around us started to move as a large net scooped mom up from the ground. “MOM!” I yelled and went closer for a better look. As I got closer, a hunter jumped out from behind the tree. “AHHH” yelled me and my siblings. “Run!!”  yelped our mom. 

PEW!! PEW!!  A weird noise rang through the trees. I felt a sharp burning feeling in my tail. Glancing back, I saw that my tail got shot off but I couldn't stop to

look at it because the hunter was chasing after us. We ran through a sharp prickle bush, which the hunter couldn't get through. We  stopped and caught our breath. 

“WAAA! Where's mom?” cried Sally. 

“ I do not know!” Said DK glancing back at Sally. 

“She got caught,” I replied with tears in my eyes. 

“DJ your tail!!!”  My brother panted, pointing at my tail.

“You’re bleeding! Does it hurt?” Sally asked. “ Yeah a little bit. I think I’ll be okay,” I pointed out 

“We should stop the bleeding. Quick, DK! Go find some big leaves and a vine. You look over there and I’ll look over here,” she instructed.

Sally and Dk disappeared into the bushes and DJ grabbed his tail.

“My tail doesn't really hurt that bad,”  I said to myself.

“AHHHHHHHH!!!!!”  Sally’s voice rang from the other side of the bushes. “ DK find me!!!” Sally shrieked. 

From the other bush, DK jumped out and stood beside me, his body shaking. 

“Where did she go?” DK panicked.  Jumping to my paws, me and Dk ran to find Sally. Running towards her scream, we saw a huge gray anaconda chasing our sister. “Everyone run!!”  I yelled as the great
