This is Sherman the scaredy cat. He gets scared from hearing a knock on the door,  to the sound of a hoover, even the thought of meeting other cats terrifies him. Because of his fear towards anything and everything, he is always on his own. 

Each morning when the sun is up, Sherman sits by the window to watch the birds and the bees. And with each morning, he never fails to turn as pale as a ghost. It's just too scary out there for him. 

At nightfall, when the moon shines bright, the birds and bees are out of sight, Sherman peeks through the window and looks up to the blinking stars sadly. 'I wish I wasn't so scared all the time', he whispers. And every night he falls asleep wishing to be brave.

One morning, Sherman notices a tiny grey cat playing in the lawn. She sings with the birds and plays catch with the bees. For something so tiny, she's incredibly feisty!, he marvels.

The next morning, Sherman quickly waits for the grey cat by the window. 'I wonder what adventures she will have today?', he muses. The tiny grey cat finally appears. She starts rolling around the grass and nibbles on some leaves. 

Then out of a sudden, she leaps across the lawn and perches on Sherman's window. Her big playful eyes staring at him. 'Hi! I'm Sophie Grey. Would you like to play?', she asks.

Sherman freezes. His paws start to sweat. His tongue is tied. He turns as white as a ghost and when he tries to open his mouth to speak, a growl escapes his mouth instead! 

GGRRRR!

Sophie Grey backs away. 'There's no need to be angry! I was just trying to be friendly!', she quivers. Sophie Grey scurries back across the lawn and hides behind the bushes.
