One Friday Raini and her class were brainstorming  Ideas for Fathers Day cards, they were going to make some next week. When Raini got home, she went and told her Mom all about it… “Shh, don’t tell Papa”, she said. She was planning to keep it a secret from her Papa. But when she woke up on Monday, she felt like she was going to puke. So her mom took her to Dr.James that morning and got her a medication and called Ms.Cora her teacher and told her that she would not be coming to school for a couple days because of her sickness. Riani was so sad she wouldn’t be able to make her papa a Fathers Day card or a present, she felt awful.

Soon it was a day before Fathers Day and Raini still had nothing to give. So Raini went to ask her Mom if they could go to the store and her Mom said yes. So later that afternoon Raini and her Mom went to many stores, but Raini couldn’t find a thing. Then Raini finally found something she liked, a sparkly green card saying, “I Love You” and a coffee mug with a Red heart saying “Best Dad Ever” so her Mom bought it for her and dropped Raini at her Nani ’s house and left for work.

Raini was so happy to see her Nani Jass and her Nani was as happy to see her. Then Raini showed her Nani the things she had got for her Papa. Her Nani loved them, so they left the things on the coffee table and went to see Lina, her Nani's pet dog. Once they said hi, Raini and her Nani went outside. After an hour or so Raini went inside for lunch, she was helping her Nani make her special avocado tacos for tomorrow, but when they came in, they saw Lina ripping the card, and there was glass on the floor beside Lina too. 

Raini was devastated she felt like she was the worst daughter ever “Oh, Nani. What am I going to give Papa now?”, she asked. Her Nani sighed “ Oh my dear, I’m so sorry. Lina was very naughty to do such a thing I am sure she didn’t know, and she feels very sorry”, said Nani Jass, Lina whimpered. Raini sat down and nuzzled Lina“It’s ok” she said to Lina, but she was still very sad. 

Then her Nani said “Oh Raini, you do know that the gifts aren’t the important thing… Your love is”, she said, Raini looked up “I am sure if you would just make your papa a normal card…and you put your heart and soul into it. I am sure it will be the most special and precious thing ever to him!”, said Nani Jass “ and I’ll let you use my pottery clay and we will make him another mug that you can decorate your self”, she told Raini .
