REFLEXION

There he was when a passing white-breasted gull landed next to him and patted his back with one of its sturdy legs.
- May I know what's wrong with you, little one? From your sadness I deduce that you are in big trouble.

The little green bird glanced at her a little embarrassed.
- I don't know if it's a problem, but the truth is that I feel terrible.
The seagull sat down, ready to listen to the story.
- I have nothing better to do so I'm all ears. If you share with me what overwhelms you, maybe I can help you.
The little bird still did not take away his little eyes soaked in tears from the infinite blue sea. At last, he was able to release everything that was inside him. - Do you see how amazing the ocean is? And do you see how close it is?… Since I was born my great dream is to learn to swim.
- Oh yeah?… And why?
- To jump the waves, to check if the water is as salty as they count, to float face up like a drifting log ... and to explore the bottom in search of corals!
The seagull felt very sorry for him and was silent for a few seconds.
The boy did not ask for a little thing! Finally, he decided to comment.
- Even if you don't believe me, I assure you that I can understand your frustration: you are a bird that wants to swim and cannot swim ... Isn't that so? - Yes, and that's why I ... - Listen well to what I am going to tell you: all beings in the world, from the smallest to the largest, have a lot of virtues, but also some limitations that we must accept naturally. Have you never stopped to think about that topic? The little green bird felt quite rushed. - The truth is that not much. - Well, you just have to look at others. For example ... look there! See those humans walking barefoot on the beach? They say they are the most intelligent beings on planet Earth! They have such a developed brain that they are capable of building sophisticated rockets that go through space and land on the Moon, but you know what? They will never be able to fly by themselves like us birds, nor run at the speed of cheetahs, nor jump from branch to branch in the style of gorillas!
