Once upon a time, there lived a tree and in the tree was a family of owls.

There was Mother Owl, FlippityFlaps,

Thisle, and the youngest, LittleHoot.

They were a happy family!

Then, one day, Mama owl made an announcement.

"Children," she said "You guys are still owlets, but your getting bigger and soon there will be no room for the nest for all of us. It's about time you learn how to fly!".

"Fl y?" said all the kids at once.

"Yes," said their mother, "Fly."

"Watch me,: said Mamma Owl.

She spreded out her wings and flapped to the air.

Then she landed to the nest.

"Your'e turn!" she said.

FlippityFlap flapped his wings. He flew!

Thisle flapped her wings. She flew!

LittleHoot flapped his wings.

Then he looked down.

"Yikes!" he shouted and he started to fall.

"Littlehoot, What happened?" she asked.

" I started flying" replied LittleHoot "But then I looked down and got scared. It's way too high from the ground, Mama. I'm afraid of heights.

"I hope I won't be scared, next week" LittleHoot replied.

"Don't worry LittleHoot" said FlippityFlap "I'm sure you won't be".

Then, one day, Mama owl said

"I have an errand to run. Be good while i'm gone".

"Okay Mama, we will be" said the owlets.

And then she took off to the sky.

However, not too long after she left,

There was a spookey noise calling out.

And that startled the owlets.

"W-w-what is that?" LittleHoot shuddered.

"I-i-I don't know" said Thisle.

"I-I-It looks like a...like a...like a..." studdered FlippityFlap.

"Like a what? What is it?" asked LittleHoot and Thisle together.

"MONSTER!!!!!!" shouted FlippityFlap.

The owlets listened to the noise where was this monster.

"It'll probely have us for breakfast!" said FlippityFlap!

"Or our nest for lunch" said Thisle.

"Or our tree for dinner!" said LittleHoot.

"The sound is getting louder!" said FlippityFalp.

"The monster's probley coming closer" said Thistle.

"Hold on for a second" said Little Hoot

LittleHoot started climbing down the tree.

"Where are you going?" Thistle called from the nest.

"I'm going to see what's making that noise" siad LittleHoot.

"But it's probley a MONSTER!" called out FlippityFlap.

"Maybe" replied Littlehoot "But I wonder....."
