Cleo walks around her small village, the little mud huts surrounded by tall green trees that tower over the village. She hears a loud voice. “This is an emergency! The dragon we chained up has broken free. We need to chain it up again. We’ll need good, quick fighters” says the Chief sternly. The Chief is tall, skinny and the best fighter in town, that’s why he’s the Chief.

“I choose Chloe for this mission!” the chief says proudly. “Pick someone to go with. Everyone, line UP.”  Cleo stands and trips over her shoe laces. Her eyes get teary, ‘that’s why no one chooses me on a mission. I am Clumsy Cleo’ she thinks sadly. “I’ll take Cleo.” Chloe declares.  Cleo can’t believe it!

Her!? Why not me!!!!

The girls pack their things and set out on an adventure up the mountain. “Why did you choose me?” Cleo asks.  

“Everyone deserves a chance.” Chloe replies. Cleo smiles quietly to herself. The forest is very cold and dark. The trees scream in the wind. The pathway is muddy and there are mosquitoes everywhere. 

Then Cleo takes a step and the land beneath her slides into a cold, strong, rushing stream. Cleo starts to drown. “Help meeeee” She cries. Chloe swings on a vine, grabs her and then swings her on to shore. Cleo silently wishes she could be more like Chloe.

HELP MEEEEEEEE!

The girls hear a roar. “The dragon.” Chloe says happily. The girls run towards the sound and see the dragon “Let’s go!!” Chloe screams as she grabs her sword. She runs and jumps in the air, into a forward roll and lands right near the broken chains. Time to be like Chloe, Cleo thinks in her head. She runs, she jumps she falls flat on her back. She quickly gets up and runs to the chains. Cleo looks at the big red dragon then her eyes dart to the dragon’s feet. The chain is still attached to its feet but the chain has broken off the steel chunk that keeps the dragon from running away. Cleo whispers her plan to Chloe. “That’s genius!!” Chloe exclaims. Chloe runs toward the dragon with her sword, the dragon starts to chase her. Chloe runs past Cleo and the steel chunk. Cleo grabs the chains from the dragon and holds them tightly.
