Blob comes from planet Bloop, a flourishing planet inhabited by the Bloobs.
The Bloobs have lived in peace and harmony since the beginning of time.
Blob wonders if other alien societies are like his own, so he grabs a ship and heads to the nearest inhabited planet: Earth.
Blob landed on the North American continent when he reached Earth. The year was 1754.

Blob learned that a war was going on between the British and the French for seven years. He had never seen or heard of war.
The British won the war and got a lot of land. However, the war was expensive. Britain made the American colonies pay the for the war and told them they could not go on some of the new land. This made them angry. Blob just felt confused.
Little did Blob know that that seven year war would spark the beginning of a revolution.
To further add fuel to the flame, the British ordered the Stamp Act, in 1765 which stated every public or legal document had to have a special stamp. This cost the colonist money. The colonist disliked the act so much that they refused to by British goods and even acted violently against British officials.

Humans are scary!
Things went from bad to worse when a street fight broke out in Boston in 1770.
A group of young colonists threw snowballs, sticks, and stones at British soldiers. The soldiers shot and killed some of the colonists.
The massacre caused many colonists to become even more angry at British rule.

AHHH!

Blob thought it couldn't get worse... until the British began put a tax on tea.
The colonists were fed up with Britain's "taxation without representation," so a bunch of colonists dumped hundreds of chests of tea into the Boston Harbor.

I'll help you, sweaty angry humans!
Along with taxing tea, the British taxed all other imports such as paint, glass, lead, and paper. These were known as the "Townshend Acts."

That's brutal, dawg.
As punishment for the Boston Tea Party, the British ordered the Intolerable Acts.
One of the acts closed the Boston Harbor until the ruined tea was payed for. Blob wondered how long this would continue.
