The full moon chronicles.
Prologue
The girl with wings wept over the broken body of a sun-kissed girl with caramel brown eyes, the warmth fading from her smile, and the luster of her black hair dulling. The tall boy bent protectively over the winged girl. He whispered in her ear, words that made the flow of tears lessen. The crew shuddered as they spread their wings, and holding the body, flew into the night.
Chapter one: The party.
The dagger spun in the air. La vita dell'oscurità è il tuo cuore nel suo battito. The life of darkness is your heart in its beat. I turned the old man's final words over in my head. I caught the dagger just before it stabbed my foot. My things were packed, other than the necessities for tomorrow, and a girl could only watch so much. I had officially found the end on the internet, so I played with one of three daggers that I hadn't packed. My last mission had been tough, and left me on edge. The pope had led an old fashioned church and town, turning the area into a
cult. The pope was paranoid and a pervert. I became a priestess for two weeks, until I got close enough to kill. With his last breath, he called me a demon, and told me my heart was one of darkness. I just wanted the cash that came with killing him. I'm an assassin, what do you expect?! I was drawn out of my inner yelling by Ariana, my oldest sister. "New dress?" "Yeah! It fits so well! Buuut, Mama wants you to come down stairs and join the party."
"Can't." I reply. "Shan't. Come, hermanita, tell me." Turning away, I muttered the pope's dying words. "La vita dell'oscurità è il tuo cuore nel suo battito." "You have heard many things of the sort, and they have never phased you before. Why does this one trouble you? Have your dreams darkened?" "Stop talking like a sage or therapist. And yes. There's something black out there, and I feel like every time I round a corner, it'll be there."
"Huh. Okay, but still, you can where gloves or something, but I'm going to college soon, and Oceana only has a year before she leaves too. Humor me? I'll give you three hours of undisturbed solo riding time." I grinned, showing my unusually large, sharp, and pointed canines. "I'll take you up on that."
The dress I wore was black, with gold that shimmered when I moved. The top was form fitting, showing off my curves. I had put in my colored contacts, as not to raise suspicion for the bandanna I where to hide my eyes. I would have done a beautifully dark smoky eye if my glow in the dark yellow gold eyes didn't scare people. As I entered the living room, which the party planner had skillfully rearranged, all the celebrities my mom had managed went quiet.
