It was an autumn usual morning at school. The kids were playing outside in the school yard under the plane tree. Suddenly a gust of wind threw a few leaves on the ground. One of them landed on George's shoulder...Konstantina shouted: "look a leaf on your shoulder ...maybe it wants to tell you a secret... Apostolia completed..." Let's give him a name...Dimitris said....hmmm...it is a fyllo (leaf in Greek and common word with friend)...and a friend...let's call him Fillimonas the leaf the kids said with one voice".
"Hi friends...Fillimonas happilly spoke....I am with you ...because I need your help...the trees need your help...and the animals...that live on, in and around trees...need help"

Then a beautiful butterfly appeared and asked Filimonas: “Would you like to go on a trip?” and Filimonas smiled!
The wind blew and the trip started. They were very happy and after a while they arrived over a forest. It was very big and nice. There were a lot of trees. Some were tall and green and other were small and their leaves were yellow and orange because autumn had come. There was also a river and some animals such as: a squirrel, a hedgehog and a snake.
Suddenly, they discovered that next to that beautiful forest there was a forest that was burnt. There was nothing, but burnt trees! The two friends felt very sad…

Filimonas approached a burnt tree that was very sad and asked what happened in the forest. The tree told its story. We were a beautiful forest, green big and small trees, animals, birds, all colors. Suddenly one night, some people appeared holding something in their hands. Fire started burning everything. The animals ran in fear to be saved, the trees bent and burned. We heard sirens and people in red started throwing water with big pipes to put out the fire. They succeeded but unfortunately the forest was burned. Everything turned black, the animals and the birds disappeared. We are very frustrated. We need protection. Filimonas and his friend the butterfly were upset, so Filimonas decided to continue their journey to find many masketeers to protect the trees.

Fillimonas and his friend, the butterfly, thought that they should do something. While the butterfly was flying, she saw a shcool a bit further. It was a Kindergarten. The two friends got close and saw that the kids were outside and they were sad. They didn't want to play."Hello", said the two friends. " I'm Fillimonas and this is my friend, the butterfly. Why are you sad?"" Because our favourite forest burnt down. We used to play, pick flowers, pine cones. And now?" the kids exclaimed. The two friends promised to do something, but what? " Gather here to think. Fillimonas needs little helpers. All's opinion counts" said the butterfly." We have to be tree masketeers. Nature is in danger!' said Fillimonas. So the kids decided to say their opinion to the elders. They cut big colorful cardboards and wrote slogans:" Do not burn out down trees!" and " Take care of the forest animals and respect them".
They decided to put them on the roads of the city, at kindergarten and near the burnt forest!

Eventually, searching together, they found the little hedgehogs scared in the burnt forest, in a nest under a tree. They were very sad and so they thought to give them joy and decided to build them a new nest in the forest that was not burned. In a few hours the nest was ready !!! And because Christmas was approaching, they all decorated a Christmas tree with whatever material they found in nature and the children brought beautiful colored lights to celebrate together on Christmas day.
