Proclamation of 1763Date: 1763The Proclamation of 1763 was an
announcement that all land west of
the Appalachian mountains would not
be settled by colonists.

If I was a colonist I would have felt mad
because I deserved that land for fighting the
French. I would have complained about it
with my neighbors, but not enough to riot.

The Sugar ActDate: 1764The Sugar Act was an
tax on sugar and sugar
related items passed
by the British Gov.
without the consent of
the colonists. It led
many colonists to
wanting
representation.

If I was a colonist having to
pay taxes on sugar, I would be
really angry because the
government didn't explain why
the added the tax.

The Quartering ActDate: 1765The Quartering Act was an act passed by
the Gov. stating that colonists would be
assigned a british soldier and they would
have to care for his needs. They would
have to house them, feed them and give
them drinks.

If I was a colonist being forced to care for
a soldier, I would be scared of having an
armed soldier in my private home.

The Stamp ActDate: 1765The Stamp Act was an act passed by the
British Gov. that put angered many
colonists because it put a tax on many
printed materials.

If I was a colonist at the time of the
Stamp Act, I would be really mad at the
british for thinking that they can just
put all these taxes on us and not ask
us.

The Townshend ActDate: 1767The Townshend Act was an unjust tax
from Charles Townshend on imports to
the colonists. This continued to anger
colonists and led to the boycott of British
goods.

If I was a colonist paying taxes
for british goods, I would also
boycott all british goods.

Boston MassacreDate: 1770The Boston Massacre was when a mob
of colonists started venting their
frustration from having to house british
soldiers. The british soldiers, feeling
threatened, opened fire on innocent
colonists. This enraged colonies and led
them to demand the removal of the
british soldiers

If I was a colonist hearing of the Boston
Massacre, I would maybe start thinking
of driving the british out of Boston by
force.
