Proclamation of 1763
The Proclamation Line of 17631763
In the treaty of Paris, which ended the seven
years war, Britain gained all of Canada, and all
territory north of New Orleans. In the Royal
Proclamation of 1763 the territory was divided.
Colonists were not allowed to go west of the
"Proclamation Line", which ran down the
Appalachians. This upset the colonists, they
fought for and won the territory, why shouldn't
they use it? I would have been very angry too, if
you fought hard for years and sacrificed so much
and won the territory, why not take advantage of
it?

Proclamation Line of 1763

The Sugar Act1764
The British put a tax on sugar and
raised certain taxes.It was important
because the colonists thought that was
wrong and wanted to help/change the
government.If i had been there I would
have fought to change the government
and stop lots of the taxes.

tax:$$$

No! This isn't right!

The Quartering Act1765
Parliament passed the quartering act which
allowed British troops to stay in the American
colonies. They could stay in barracks provided by
the colonies and ,if needed, they could go into
somone's house and stay there. This angered the
colonists because the British troops could just walk
into your home and you would have to feed them
and help them. I wouldn't have let them in, I would
have tried to change that. It's just not fair to the
colonists.

I will be staying here.

The Stamp Act1765
The British put taxes on newspapers,
stamps, etc. The importance of this event is:
This act angered the colonists. Also, the Sons
and Daughters of Liberty helped stop this act.If
I had been there I would have helped the
Sons of Liberty stop the act. I think it was
another big event leading to the revolution.
The British were taking advantage of the
colonists.

10c +TAX
I'm not buying that!

The Townshend Acts1767
The Townshend acts imposed duties on glass,
lead, paints, paper, and tea imported into the
colonies. The British needed money. This act is
important because it helped the British, but
upset the colonists even more with more and
more taxes.If I had been a colonist I would
consider going back to England, there's just so
many taxes put just to benefit the British. It
must be very frustrating for the colonists.

$TAX$
We need money

The Boston MassacreMarch 5, 1770
British soldiers at Boston fired because they
felt threatened by the colonist that were
approaching them. Five were killed and others
wounded. This was important because it was
good propaganda against the British. Also,
many colonists were too angry to work with
the British. If I had been there as a colonist I
would have fought back against the British and
got other people to help. It just isn't fair to the
colonists to be like that.
