judaism

leader and beginnings.
During the era of the Tanakh, various
forms of leadership developed. There were
the heads of the original Hebrew tribes,
and then also prophets such as Moses,
Jeremiah and Samuel and whose words
inspire people to this day, judges such as
Samson, kings such as David and Solomon,
priests of the Temple in Jerusalem, and the
Sanhedrin which was the judiciary.

The basic laws and teachings of Judaism
come from the Torah, the first five books of
the Hebrew Bible and oral traditions. Some
of these oral traditions were later written.
The Mishnah and the Talmud are books
written based on these oral traditions.

beliefs and influence of beliefs
Judaism (from the Latin Iudaismus, derived from the
Greek and ultimately from the Hebrew Yehudah,
"Judah" in Hebrew: Yahadut, the distinctive
characteristics of the Judean ethnos) is the religion,
philosophy and way of life of the Jewish people. Judaism
is a monotheistic religion, with its main inspiration being
based on or found in the Hebrew Bible (also known as
the Tanakh) which has been explored in later texts, such
as the Talmud. Judaism is considered by religious Jews
to be the expression of the covenantal relationship God
established with the Children of Israel.

Christianity

Leader and beginings
Early Christianity is the period of
Christianity preceding the First Council of
Nicaea in 325. It is typically divided into
the Apostolic Age and the Ante-Nicene
Period

Beliefs and influencs of beliefs
The following are the basic Christian beliefs
central to almost all Christian faiths. They are
presented here as the core doctrines of
Christianity. A small number of faith groups
who consider themselves to be within the
framework of Christianity, do not accept some
of these beliefs. It should also be understood
that slight variances, exceptions, and additions
to these doctrines can exist within certain faith
groups that fall under the broad

Hinduism

leader and beginnings
Hinduism is unique among the world religions in that it has no
founder or date of origin. While most major religions derive
from new ideas taught by a charismatic leader, Hinduism is
simply the religion of the people of India, which has gradually
developed over four thousand years. The origins and authors
of its sacred texts are largely unknown. Although today's
Hinduism differs significantly from earlier forms of Indian
religion, Hinduism's roots date back as far as 2000 BC, making
it one of the oldest surviving religions. Because of its great
age, the early history of Hinduism is unclear. The most ancient
writings have yet to be deciphered, so for the earliest periods
scholars must rely on educated guesses based on archaeology
and the study of contemporary texts.

THE VEDAS are the most important and sacred
texts of Hindus. The Vedas are the world's most
ancient scripture.
The earliest written Vedas date to about 1400
B.C.E (Before the Common Era), but the songs
they capture in letters are a great deal older,
although no one can say by how much.
The language of the Vedas is Sanskrit, a language
that is so holy that the very word Sanskrit means
"perfect".

beliefs and influence of beliefs
Hindus believe in a one, all-pervasive Supreme Being who is both immanent and transcendent,
both Creator and Unmanifest Reality.
Hindus believe in the divinity of the four Vedas, the world's most ancient scripture, and
venerate the Agamas as equally revealed. These primordial hymns are God's word and the
bedrock of Sanatana Dharma, the eternal religion.
Hindus believe that the universe undergoes endless cycles of creation, preservation and
dissolution.
Hindus believe in karma, the law of cause and effect by which each individual creates his own
destiny by his thoughts, words and deeds.
Hindus believe that the soul reincarnates, evolving through many births until all karmas have
been resolved, and moksha, liberation from the cycle of rebirth, is attained. Not a single soul
will be deprived of this destiny.
Hindus believe that divine beings exist in unseen worlds and that temple worship, rituals,
sacraments and personal devotionals create a communion with these devas and Gods.
Hindus believe that an enlightened master, or satguru, is essential to know the Transcendent
Absolute, as are personal discipline, good conduct, purification, pilgrimage, self-inquiry,
meditation and surrender in God.
Hindus believe that all life is sacred, to be loved and revered, and therefore practice ahimsa,
noninjury, in thought, word and deed.
Hindus believe that no religion teaches the only way to salvation above all others, but that all
genuine paths are facets of God's Light, deserving tolerance and understanding.

Buddism

Leader and begginings
The History of Buddhism spans the 6th century BCE to
the present, starting with the birth of Buddha
Siddhartha Gautama in Lumbini, Nepal. This makes it
one of the oldest religions practiced today. The religion
evolved as it spread from the northeastern region of the
Indian subcontinent through Central, East, and
Southeast Asia. At one time or another, it influenced
most of the Asian continent. The history of Buddhism is
also characterized by the development of numerous
movements, schisms, and schools, among them the
Theravāda, Mahāyāna and Vajrayāna traditions, with
contrasting periods of expansion and retreat.
