In a small desert town, called Joshua Tree, there was a little girl. That little girl's name was Tracy, and she had a dream.

All she wanted was to go and see the stars. Not from the earth, but a place closer. She was tired of learning about earth things like how to find your latitude on earth using Polaris.

She asked her parents “Can I go see the stars when I'm older?” They always said the same thing “You silly goose, you can just look out the window!”

But she always said “But I want to see them, not from a planet, I want to see them from a spaceship!” “That's a big dream, Tracy, and you might have to be patient to achieve it”, said her parents.

But she was tired of waiting. She decided to build her own spaceship and go in the dead of night. She started working on it day and night, for hours at a time, every day.

After a while, she was done. She put on her space-suit, and boarded the ship.

She took off. Going by the tiny planets Mercury, and Venus, with a 116 earth day, long day!

Passing by the beautiful red planet Mars, the one that we have rovers on right now.

Jupiter, the largest planet in the solar system.

Saturn, the one with the ring made out of ice and rock.

Neptune and Uranus the two coldest planets in the solar system.

Then, after all that she looked around and started getting sad. She had come all this way by herself but she only wanted to share it with her family.

So, she learned that the earth, while maybe not being at the center of the universe, was with her all along. When she got home she told her parents all of the things that she had learned about space.

She told them about our 365 day orbit around the sun and the moon's one month orbit around the earth.
