Hi. My name is Teddy. I'm a teddy bear. My owner doesn't know that I am actually alive. His name is Joey. He thinks that I am just a regular stuffed animal. 

My maker told us not to tell anyone, but I'm gonna let you in on a little secret. Santa gave me to Joey as a present for Christmas. That's why I'm special!

I'm not allowed to talk to Joey because Santa says it would ruin the surprise. My job is to act like a regular stuffed animal until Joey turns eighteen years old. 

Once Joey turns eighteen, I can tell him the secret. Joey has to promise me that he will not tell anyone. If he tells somebody, he gets in trouble with Santa. He would get coal for the rest of his life for Christmas!

This is my house. And this is Brad. Brad is my best friend in the whole world. Him and I like to go explore outside while Joey is gone at school. 

"Hey, Brad! What do you want to do today?"

"Woof, woof!" 

He said he wants to go outside and explore, so that is what we will do!

We get to go outside because Joey is at school and his mom and dad are at work. As long as we get home before they do, we can go outside everyday! Brad and I like to go for walks. We will let you come with us today.

First, we have to get out of our neighborhood. Then, we will go walk past the stores and look at what they have. We don't have any money to buy anything because we don't have jobs!

If we see some people while we walk, I have to pretend like I am a stuffed animal. This is my least favorite part of my job. I have to get in Brad's slobbery mouth and he gets me all nasty. Once they leave, Brad is able to put me down again.
