Students will start off the activity by reading "Green Eggs and Ham", by Dr. Seuss!

The teachers will lay out all of the materials on the table. The materials are:
- the egg white part of the egg (pre-cut by teacher)
- green coloring supplies (crayons, markers, colored pencils, etc.)
- glue
- green yolks (pre-cut by teacher)
The students will color the egg white part of their egg green! By doing this, they are able to add their creative touch by utilizing different art materials to make their egg white green. During this time, we will discuss elements of our story that relate to this craft.
The students will then apply glue to their green yolks and paste them on the egg white portion. If needed (depending on the age), a teacher can assist in the application of the glue.

The finished product will look similar to this but please do not show this to students as it may hinder their creative experience.
My intended audience for this activity is children between the ages of 18 months and 24 months. I know it is developmentally appropriate because I created the craft with the help of the director of education at my school and then did it with my kids that are between the ages of 18 and 24 months. They did a really great job with it. I decided on this activity because it combined some elemnts of process art while being connected to a literacy experience.
Who is my intended audience? Is it developmentally appropriate? Why did I decide on this activity?
How did you introduce it? How did you facilitate learning? Finally discuss how the kids responded to your activity. How did you measure their progress?
I introduced the activity with the literacy activity which was storytime with the book, Green Eggs, and Ham". My kids responded positively to the activity as they love storytime and love to do crafts! I measured progress by how engaged they stayed throughout the experience.
include which Habits of Mind assisted you with this assignment.
I used thinking about our thinking for this assignment. I did this activity a couple of weeks ago so I had to think about my thought process and how I was going to articulate it.
