Once upon a time, there was an old merchant who had three sons and three daughters, all born into a wealthy family. When the family tragically lost all their wealth one day, the three sons and three daughters had to learn to change their life and live in the village with all the other commonfolk.

All of the kids were upset they lost everything. But, the noblest, smartest, and most handsome of the children did not let this bother him.
"Don't worry, everyone," he announced, "I will cook, clean, and provide as much as I can!"

This son was called "Handsome" throughout the village, because of his devilishly good looks and personal charm.
And so, Handsome woke up early every morning to work and make money, clean their new home, and provide food for them while the rest of the children slept in and complained about everything they lost and everything they missed in their former wealthy lifestyle.

One day, when the merchant had returned home from one of his business trips, he told stories of a beast so hideous and terrifying that trapped him in her castle after he trespassed.

He had said the only way he was able to escape from being imprisoned forever was if one of his sons replaced him as prisoner. After hearing this, Handsome immediately stepped up and offered to take his father's place.

But no matter how much the merchant protested, Handsome was already packed and ready to go. He would never let his father go through this alone, and he knew the right thing to do was to finish his father's sentence. So Handsome went on his way in search of the castle that was said to be home to a hideous beast.

When Handsome found the Beast, he was terrified and shocked by how hideous and ugly she was. And although Beast was clever and educated, he could not bare to be in the company of a woman like this. Alas, he promised his father, so he decided he would stay with her as long as he could handle.

Handsome and the Beast tried their best to get along. They ate together, they made short conversation, and then they spent the rest of their days isolated on their own. Handsome did not get along with the Beast at all.
