It was that dream again. The dream I've
been having for years now, and yet, I still don’t
know who she is, and why she’s always in my
dream.
In my dream, I’m always In the middle of
nowhere. All I can see is darkness, which seems
to cover the whole world.

Then, I can see a lady who’s holding
something out towards me, something that
shines brightly through the darkness. It’s an
old locket. As soon as I reach for it, the lady
disappears and I wake up from that dream.

At first, I thought it was just a weird
dream that people have sometimes, but as
the time passed on, that dream became more
and more vivid, and I've dreamed it more
often.

It was the night of my seven-tenth birthday
when everything changed.
I had the dream as usual, but it was
different from what I had been dreaming. When
the lady disappeared, there were a sudden flash
of pictures going through my head. An old
house, a couple, birth of a baby, a street sign,
the old locket, and then, darkness again.

The next day, I went around places to find
the house. When I have finally found the house,
I slowly walked towards it. The house was pretty
old, as I saw in my dream. Half fearful and half
curious, I opened the door and went inside.

Once I was inside, I looked around. It
looked like no one had been living for a while.
As I was looking around, I could see a bright
light coming out from somewhere. I followed
the light to a small room.
The light was coming out from the old locket.
As soon as I reached for it, it stopped shining.

When I opened the locket, there was a
picture of the couple that I saw in my dream,
and a baby as well. As I looked closer, I knew
straight away who that baby was. It was me.

Nothing made sense. Who were they?
My head spun. I couldn't think. I desperately
wanted to know what was going on.
I ran towards the door, and ran out with
the locket held tightly in my hand. I ran, ran
and ran until I was out of breath, and before I
knew it, I was already home. It was getting
dark already.

When I was in front of the house, I
hesitated, but went in since I had to talk to her
so desperately.
"Grandma" I called out as I entered.
"I'm here!" she answered from the kitchen.
"Do you have a minute?" I asked.
"Sure, what is it, Jess?" she answered.
"I think it's about my parents." I hesitated
for a second, but managed to say the words.
