What is a Tree?
Acorn
Sapling
Mature Tree
Decaying Tree
Just like you and me, a tree begins with a life cycle. For example, a tree starts life as an acorn. Then as it grows, the seed becomes a sapling. As it matures, it forms into a tree. Finally, the tree begins to decay and is ready to be harvested.
Types of Trees
Deciduous(duh·si·joo·uhs)
The First type is deciduous. A deciduous tree loses its leaves at the end of a season. They often bear fruit, and leaves change shades.

Coniferous (co-NIFF-er-us)
A coniferous tree is one that does not lose its leaves but does shed its pine cones. A pine cone is a seed that is shielded by a hard cover.

Ways Trees
Help the Environment
First

Trees produce the oxygen we breathe.
This occurs through a process called photosynthesis.
Photosynthesis occurs when leaves absorb carbon dioxide(CO2) and water into sugars the trees can eat. By doing the tree releases the oxygen we breathe.
Second
Third
