I dedicate this book to my english class

It was a warm day in Zions village, only about 50 or so residents. He had just been served dinner, and was getting ready for bed. Though it was always joyous, this night was especially exciting, since it was the last night before the annual wolf hunt.
It was another night of sleep cut short with haunting dreams. He saw the night of the annual wolf hunt, except it was the wolves hunting his tribe. Chilled to his core he woke up in a cold sweat. What he didn’t know was that these visions would soon become true.
The next morning he considered paying a visit to the village fortune teller, an old wise lady, who also happened to be fluent in the wolf tongue. If there was anyone he could trust it was her, after all she had babysat him and taught him bits and pieces of her knowledge. In the end though, he decided against it not wanting to alarm anyone.
But before he left the hut for school he wanted to ask his mother a question. Looking up he said, “mother, why do we hunt the wolves?” She gave him a painful smile and answered, “that is a question for another time, now hurry to school and come back quickly, the hunt begins at sundown.”
School was a breeze, and before he knew it he was walking on the road back home. He enjoyed the warm sun and cool wind blowing through the area. As he turned to take his water out of his back he caught a glimpse of a wolf in the distance, but when he blinked it was gone. Alarmed, he made his way home quickly.
Sundown had come and most of the village had made its way near a wolf pack in the distance. Catching the pack against the river, they slowly moved forward. Once they made it to the river bed they began to charge. Arrows flew in the darkening sky, as the true hunt began.
The river bed was still wet from the rain 2 nights ago, something the humans were not expecting. One by one they began slipping and falling into the muddy bank losing numbers against the wolves.
Wil had a bow in his arm, and a full pocket of arrows but never fired a single shot. His friend Timu looked over at him and said, “are you not human, fire your arrows.” But before he could respond he stumbled in the wet mud and fell hard onto the ground slipping towards the river.
With blurry vision he looked up and only saw a few fellow villagers standing. The scariest sight though was the wolf slowly approaching him.
Remembering the fortune teller's lessons he spoke quickly saying, “I mean no harm, I haven’t shot a single arrow.” The wolf looked at him confused and then only said, “if you aren’t human then what are you.” Before he could respond he blacked out in the dirt.
He had been rescued by the elder wolf of the pack, and from that day on he was taught the life of the wolf, and trained to forget his past life, family and friends. He hunted without question, and found himself slowly losing who he once was.
One day in the pack Zion was given a chance to speak to the elder wolf. He was not like the others, and the only one who did not hunt with the pack, and Will had in fact grown to dislike him due to this.
