Once upon a time, there were three sisters who lived in a small village.

They were orphans and did not own much, but their love was true. One of the sister's love, however, was darker.

The day started like any other. Theya, the oldest sister, began making breakfast for the three of them. She added oats and then proceeded with water and a dash of salt into a boiling pot.

The youngest sister, Cordelia, came running from the back door in her bright blue dress, holding a brown and white tabby.

Finally, their middle sister, Opal entered the kitchen dressed in all black from head to toe. She rolled her eyes at the unknown creature and murmured, “Why are you always bringing such nonsense into the house?” Cordelia stared at her in annoyance and hissed, “Why do you have to be so negative and rude all the time?!”
Suddenly, there was a loud bang on the table, and the two youngest siblings turned to see their older sister with a clenched jaw and furrowed brows.

Stop arguing! Cordelia, take the thing outside and Opal, she has a point. You constantly have something negative to say about every little thing you don’t like.
Opal glanced at the two girls in anger and decided to go outside for some fresh air. She reached the village barrier, a rotten wooden fence that everyone was told to never cross.

She crossed the line, goosebumps rising on her arms as she walked onto the forbidden ground. She smirked as she walked a few feet away from the fence, “So this is what they’ve been trying to hide from us?”
Suddenly the world started spinning, and her vision started to spot, her head felt like it was splitting apart.
She opened her eyes to scream, but when her eyes flickered open she wasn’t in the desert anymore. She was in a castle, a beautiful princess standing in front of her.

Didn’t your sisters tell you not to come here?
I-i’m sorry, please let me go.

I’m just a humble helper.
“Who are you?”
She turned and started walking, Opal following her automatically into another room. “Do you love your sisters?” She asked, trailing her fingers across the bricks of the walls.

Opal glanced at her hands and nodded hesitantly, “Of course” she mumbled. The princess tipped her head, “No I don’t think you do. Your love is different, it’s darker and fractured. But we can fix that.”

Opal blinked and suddenly she and the princess were in Opal’s old house with her sisters.

Her sisters were working around the house, sweat gleaming on their faces.

I don’t want to do this anymore, it’s hard.
