Biomes are a place in which an animal adapts to stay alive. There are six major biomes in the world, but the Red panda lives in only one of them. The six major biomes are a taiga, grassland, tropical rainforest, tundra, desert, and deciduous forest. A Deciduous forest is a temperate forest and it is the second largest biome on the planet covering 25% of the world's forest area only behind the boreal forest, which covers 33%. The average temperature in the deciduous forest is 50 degree Fahrenheit and 10 degrees Celsius. This makes it a perfect biome and temperature for the red pandas.

introduction
A temperate forest is a forest found between the tropical and boreal regions, located in the temperate zone. It is the second largest biome on our planet, covering 25% of the world's forest area, only behind the boreal forest, which covers about 33%.
did you know?
the temperate forest is warm in the summer, but it gets cool in the fall, and cold in the winter. Most temperate forests don't get as much rainfall as tropical rain forests, but they do get enough rain—about 30 to 60 inches each year—to grow big trees.

known for and where it is
Temperate deciduous forests are most notable because they go through four seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Leaves change color (or senesce) in autumn, fall off in the winter, and grow back in the spring; this adaptation allows plants to survive cold winters.Found in such places as eastern North America, northeastern Asia, and western and eastern Europe, temperate forests are a mix of deciduous, broad leaved and coniferous evergreen trees. They are simpler in structure than tropical forests and support a smaller number of tree species.

Temperature
The average temperature in temperate deciduous forests is 50°F (10°C). Summers are mild, and average about 70°F (21°C), while winter temperatures are often well below freezing. PLANTS: Trees and plants in deciduous forests have special adaptations to survive in this biome.

Temperate ecosystem?
Temperate ecosystems are characterized by obvious seasonality in temperature, with cooler winters and warmer summers, and also may show distinct seasonality in precipitation patterns, resulting from seasonal changes in the orientation of Earth's axis relative to the sun.

the difference between tropical and temperate forest?
There are two types of rainforests, tropical and temperate. Tropical rainforests are found closer to the equator where it is warm. Temperate rainforests are found near the cooler coastal areas further north or south of the equator. The tropical rainforest is a hot, moist biome where it rains all year long.
