Once there was a caterpillar that was very excited to turn into a butterfly. It had a lot of buddies on the plant that she was on. The buddies were nice. Except when they touched each other. The little chubby (that is what we are going to call the caterpillar in this book) ate faster than all the other caterpillars on the plant. The reason why the chubby ate so much faster than all the other caterpillars was because it wanted to turn into a chrysalis faster than all the other caterpillars, so that is could turn into a butterfly faster. Oh, and it lived in Florida. At that time it shed its skin four times. All the other caterpillars shed there skin two times. The reason why, it because it was eating faster than all of the other caterpillars so, it needed to shed more.

Now our little chubby is in J shape. (That's what caterpillars do before they make there chrysalis.) (A chrysalis is commonly thought to be a cocoon.) Our little chubby is the one in the red circle. It was hanging there for a while. The little chubby was hanging there thinking how long it would be before it emerged from its chrysalis and be a pretty butterfly.
