EDU 215

"Hi, I'm Ann, I love to play with friends, and explore. I have a dog named fluffy, and this is the story of my life with dyslexia. I am a little girl who can have friends like everyone else."

"It started when my mom and I moved to a small town. I was eight years old, and we left my home and friends but that was ok mama said that there would be lots of people and kids that I could meet."

"Hey mom I'm a little nervous, it's my first day of school. Is there something I can do when I'm at school so I can make new friends? "

"Yes there is, just be yourself, be honest, and be kind. You are a beautiful, and kind little girl. Though you also need to do your best in school. Remember asking questions, and talking to the teacher if you need help is not a bad thing."

After arriving at the school Ann thought about what she saw. She saw children, the building, and land full of trees. "Seeing my new school first time was cool. All the flowers and trees look lovely. Though the school is much smaller than my old one." This is one of her thoughts about her new school. The other was about what her mom said about making friends.

Throughout the day, Ann made friends. Though when she is asked to read something in class her reply is always the same. She replies that it "looks strange or can we talk after class." Which would cause some of the other children to giggle. Where her friends, like Jen a new friend who sits next to her, would tell them to "stop". Over time they became close and would play at recess together every day. Until one day Jen even advised ann to talk to Ms. Bonny about her problem with reading.

"Ann would you read page five for the class."

"Sorry, Ms. Bonny, I don't know what it says it looks strange. May I talk with you after school about it?"
ha hahaha
ha hahaha

As the other students left for home, the teacher went to call Ann's mom into the room to talk about classes and what Ann had told her.

"Ann is everything ok? Why won't you read in class, because of what is going on I'm going to talk with your mom but don't worry it isto straighten things out."
"It is hard to read, the words seem mixed around, or I think backward?"
"Thank you Ms. Bonny. I will see what is going on and we will stay in touch If anything is wrong. "

"Hello Mrs. Flower, I called you in today because I have noticed some struggling with Ann's reading. Ms. Ann had described as "the words are hard to read, and that they seem mixed around. It has disrupted the class. As well hers and others learning. "
