The project about The Life of Gandhi for history teacher Mrs. Alley

Thrown off the train
This happened in 1893 in South Africa. Gandhi was travelling on a train with his first class ticket. While Gandhi was riding this train, the train conductor came to him and asked Gandhi, "What are you doing in this train car?" Gandhi made it clear to him that he had a first class ticket but this did not mean anything to the conductor, who told Gandhi to go to the third class train car.

Gandhi stood his ground and said that he had a first class ticket. The conductor threw Gandhi off the train at the next stop. Gandhi was kicked out on a racial basis.
Burning the Passes
In 1908 in South Africa Mahatma Gandhi organized the event in which he burned passes. This event that he organized also involved the Indian Congress Party. Gandhi addressed all the people who came to listen to him. In the center of this event was a burn bin and he began to throw these passes into the burn bin when he finished his speech. A police officer beat him, but despite his injuries Gandhi threw these passes into the fire.

fire.
State of India/Living in Ashram/Poverty in India(1915-1918)
In the movie, Gandhi is seen travelling on the train for the second time. He was on a train with the task of rediscovering India. Gandhi lived in the Ashram because he wanted to experience something new in his life. Also Gandhi made his speech and said, ''Until we stand in the fields with the millions that toil each day under the hot sun we will not

represent India'.' With this speech, he made it clear that the people of India should be more united.
Day of Fasting and Prayer/General strike/Amritsar Massacre(1919)
Gandhi proposed for all the people of India a day of fasting and praying because Rowlatt's law was unfair. Many people listened to Gandhi, and so they did not go to work. When Gandhi was traveling in India he was arrested. Many people began to appear on the streets and the British were actually unhappy. Dyer was the name of the British soldier who was assigned to

disperse all the crowds and restore order. Dyer introduced a provision under which the gathering of many people was prohibited. After this rule many people gathered in the center of Amritsar and Dyer ordered soldiers to shoot people.
Protestors/Police killed/Gandhi's Fast(1921)
In 1921, Prince Edward of Wales visited Bombay, India. On the same day that the prince arrived in Bombay, Gandhi made a fire into which he threw clothes, which indicated the refusal of British imports to India.Near the fire where Gandhi was, there were many people to support him in this. When the loyalists were walking home after the parade when they greeted

the prince, they stumbled over these people who were near the fire. Then happened lots of violence, but Gandhi was categorically against violence and didn't support it any way. Announced that he would began a fast in protest.
March to the sea/Salt tax/Raid on Dharasana Salt Works(1930)
Mahatma Gandhi was the organizer of the March to the Sea. They did this journey on foot and entered the Arabian Sea, which was about 240 miles. Gandhi went on this journey to protest the British government in human rights in India. This can't be called legal, since only members of the royal family could produce salt, and all other citizens of India were subject to very high taxes on salt. After Gandhi evaporated sea water and got salt, he was

arrested with many other people who participated in the journey. People who supported Gandhi went on this raid and stood face to face with many armed police officers. The most important thing is that there was no violence from people who supported Gandhi.
