Native Americans
life style
wounded knee
sitting bull
Sitting Bull was the political and spiritual leader of the Sioux warriors who destroyed General George Armstrong Custer's force in the famous battle of Little Big Horn

American Expansion out west and Railroad
Lifestyle of American settlers/American Cowboys and Vaqueros
Cowboys herded cattle, cared for horses, made repairs to fences and buildings, worked cattle drives and sometimes lived in frontier towns. They were not always welcome as they travelled, as they had reputations of being drunk, disorderly and even violent.
the railroads abused their power as a result of too little competition, as when they charged scandalously high fares in places where they exerted monopoly control. Railroads also grouped together to form trusts that fixed rates at artificially high levels.

Economic issue and changes
working conditions in factories
The working conditions in factories were often harsh. Hours were long, typically ten to twelve hours a day. Working conditions were frequently unsafe and led to deadly accidents. Tasks tended to be divided for efficiency's sake which led to repetitive and monotonous work for employees.
Populist Party
The Populists were an agrarian-based political movement aimed at improving conditions for the country's farmers and agrarian workers. They also fought for better work conditions in factories as well.
Industrialist
Rockefeller, founder of the Standard Oil Company, became one of the world's wealthiest men and a major philanthropist. Born into modest circumstances in upstate New York, he entered the then-fledgling oil business in 1863 by investing in a Cleveland, Ohio refinery. this would be considered an industrialist because they are taking advantage of the natural resources of the world and using it for modern invention and profiting off of that.
