Dedicated to all of the girls and boys struggling with their self-expression and following their passions.

There once was a little girl named Paris.
From a very young age, Paris was criticized for the way she looked and dressed. She spent hours a day trying to pick the perfect outfit that made her look the best.
Paris loved to dress up. But, for some reason, the people around her did not appreciate her style as much as she did.
Nevertheless, Paris loved to dress up for school. She would choose the outfits that she loved most, no matter what anyone thought about them.
Sometimes, Paris was almost late for school from the large amount of time she took picking out her clothes.
"Hurry up, Paris! You're going to be late for school!" her mother said.

"Coming!"

Paris would take polaroid pictures of every new outfit she picked out. Doing this was her favorite part of her day.
Paris dreamed of becoming a fashion designer when she grew up. But, for some reason, no one seemed to have faith in her.

No one around Paris liked her way of dressing. They would say she looked "bizarre" and "out of place."
After coming downstairs, her mother asked, "When will you start wearing normal clothes?"
Paris frowned and refused to eat breakfast after her mother's remark.
When Paris got to school that day, her classmates also took the time to make fun of her looks.
One of her classmates, Josh, said, "That shirt makes you look even bigger than you are."
The class laughed at his joke, and even the teacher did nothing to stop the bullying. Paris said nothing the rest of the day.

"Seriously, why does she look like that?" Josh laughed.

Paris went home that day, crying, and walked straight to her room. She immediately took off her colorful clothes and threw them in the trash.
Looking at her closet, she picked out every colorful piece of clothing and threw them out, only keeping her pink shirt.
Paris looked in the mirror and hated what she saw. She chose from that day on to never wear her favorite clothes.
