Christopher Columbus was born in Genoa, Italy on 1492 and died on May 20, 1506. Christopher Columbus was an Italian explorer and navigator who completed voyages across the Atlantic. While looking for a route to Asia, he accidentally landed in the Bahamas. He didn't know it but he also later landed in America. He explored the land and the first group of people he saw while exploring were the Lucayans. The Lucayans are from the Taino community that once lived in the Caribbean. They originated from both Hispaniola and Cuba and migrated to the Bahamas. Christopher Columbus and other Europeans kidnapped and did cruel things to the Lucayans.

John Cabot was born in Gaeta, Italy in 1450. His exact date of death is unknown but he returned to England in 1500 and died four months later. John Cabot's real name was Giovanni Caboto. Cabot's son, Sebastian, was a famous explorer and cartographer in his own right, and accompanied his father on the successful 1497 voyage. John sailed from Bristol in 1497 and discovered Newfoundland and Cape Breton Island . His voyages to North America in 1497 and 1498 helped lay the groundwork for Britain's claim to Canada. John didn't come across any people but found tools the Beothuk people who were there before him used. Beothuks were hunter-gatherers who lived in dwellings known as mamateeks. Winter mamateeks were large enough to contain fifty to sixty people.

Amerigo Vespucci was born March 9, 1454 in Florence, Italy and died on February 22, 1512. During his first voyage, he explored the northern coast of South America to beyond the Amazon. He also made significant improvements in navigational techniques. Vespucci participated in at least two voyages of the Age of Discovery on behalf of Spain and then for Portugal.
