I dedicate this book to my parents for teaching me the value of respect and that they are always looking out for me.
The theme of Terrible Tony Turns Terrific is Do what you are asked to do the first time you are asked to do it because chances are, the person who asked you to do it is just trying to help. Tony is a very smart 7th grade boy, but he quickly takes a turn for the worst and his family is doing everything they can to get back the Tony they used to know.
Word Count: 621

This is Tony. He lives in Blue Haven, Montana with his family.

Great job Tony! You got another 100!

Another one!?!
Tony is in the 7th grade and is known throughout his small town of Blue Haven for being very polite and smart.

But lately, there has been an issue. His parents, Tim and Terissa, think that Tony’s new best friend Damion is a bad influence on him.

Lately all Tony wants to do is watch TV, play video games, and eat snacks. All day long.

Tony used to do his chores without having to be asked.

His mom would come home and the dishes would be in the dishwasher, the beds were made, and all his homework was done.

Now when she comes home, he has only started his chores and homework, and she finds him watching TV with Damion.

At first she didn’t think much of it but found it a little strange.
But one day, she noticed that this was becoming an issue when she went into his room and the smell hit her like a train!

Tony’s clothes all over the floor and the bed, shoes thrown about, dirty dishes lying on the bedside table, and his backpack unopened.

She quickly closed the door in fear of what creatures might come crawling out from under all the clothes and rubbish.

With Tony being at school his mom writes a note saying “Tony, please clean your room, do your laundry, and bring all dirty dishes to the kitchen so they may be cleaned.”

Feeling accomplished, she heads downstairs to finish making dinner.

Later in the day, Tony comes home and rushes straight upstairs to what his parents now call "Tony’s cave."

After about an hour his mom yells “Tony, dinner is ready.” With no sense of urgency, Tony comes down the stairs very slowly moving as slow as a sloth.

When he gets to the table his sister yells, “Tony, you move as slow as a snail!” He simply ignores her and takes his place at the table.

After a relatively silent dinner his mom asks “Tony, did you see my note?” Tony responds “ Ya, I saw it.”

Giving a worried glance to her husband his mom says, “So did you complete everything on the list?” To which she gets a snappy “NO! I don't feel like doing it.”
