This book will let each and every one of you know what to expect in Room 2. Kindergarten is exciting and we will be doing many fun activities while working hard and learning so many new things this year.
I am so happy you are in my class!

is for always be respectful.
It is important to always be respectful in our class. You don't always have to agree or do something another student asks of you, but always be respectful.

is for be ready to learn.
We will learn new things every day. Mrs. Crivier is ready to teach and learn each day, and your job is to be prepared to learn, too.

is for community.
Our classroom is a family-community and in order for everyone to be successful, we have to work together.

is for don't forget to eat breakfast.
Starting our day with a healthy and nutritious breakfast helps our brain to be ready to learn. It also gives us the energy we need to run and play and makes us feel good overall.

is for giving your best effort.
Always try hard and do your best. Being successful is knowing we gave our best effort.

is for following directions.
When you follow directions, you will know what comes next and be prepared for it. It always feels better to know what is expected of you.

is for good listening.
Good listening is important. It is important for listening to teachers for directions, for listening to friends who are trying to tell us something, and for listening to our parents or families about important things.

is for having fun.
One of the most important things we'll do in Kindergarten is have fun while learning together. Having fun while we learn helps us to remember what we learned, and then we'll want to do it again and again.

is for learning independence.
Kindergarten is the perfect time to begin to learning how to do things for ourselves. Tying our own shoes, buttoning and zipping jackets, wiping our nose and remembering to put our things away shows we are growing and don't always need our teacher or parents to do everything for us.

is for jumping and moving.
Jumping and moving is a big part of learning this year. We won't be doing most of our learning at desks. Instead, we will move around and play games like jumping over letters to form words.

is for keep trying.
Somethings won't be easy for us. We have to keep trying over and over again until we succeed.

is for look for the good.
It is important to notice one thing everyday that makes you feel good. Sometimes it may be a friend, other days it may be a crawling ladybug. These things make us feel good about our days. Look for the good.

is for making friends.
In Kindergarten, we spend a lot of time working together as a team. Making friends is important to being a part of a successful community.

is for never say never.
As we learn and grow, anything is possible. Always believe that you can find the answers you need if you work hard enough.

is for outside.
Sometimes we will be learning indoors and other times we will be learning by having our class time outside.

is for learning through play.
Most of our learning is done through play. It is how we learn best at this age and how information will stay with us longer.
