Dedicated to all the young kids getting ready to start school.

A is for asking for help. An important part of growing up and getting ready to go to school is knowing when and how to ask for help. We can't do everything by ourselves and we all need a little help every once and a while. Your teachers and other school staff are there to help you suceed during the school day.
B is for be yourself. school is an amazing place for people to express themselves and their personalities. Everyone is different and that is an amazing thing, the world would be so boring if we all looked and sounded the same. So don't be afraid to be yourself at school.
C is for confidence. An important part of the school day and succeeding in all you do is being confident. confidence is believing in yourself and trusting your abilities. When you are confident you aren't worrying or second-guessing yourself and you do much better at whatever it is you trying to achieve.
D is for doing your best. Your never gonna be perfect in school, but trying your best is all you can control. When you try your best, even if you fail, you can still hold your head up and know you can be proud of your effort.
E is for encouraging your friends. Everyone has bad days sometimes, a little encouragement from a friend like a smile or a compliment can brighten someone's day and help them out. And being nice to others makes you feel better too, so its a win for both of you.
"I like your dress Angela!" said Greg after lunch.
F is for following directions. As you go through the school day following directions will be your best friend. Being able to quickly and efficiently follow directions will make sure you can get your work done and have a good day.
"Read to page nine please, and then close your book," said Ms Jones. "Ok, will do!" replied Susie.
G is for getting involved. There are many fun and important activities going on at school. Getting involved with such activities will make sure you learn a lot and have a great time doing it.
H is for having fun. While there is work involved, school can be very fun, with recess, friends around, and lots of activities going on. Make sure to have fun while at school because you're going to spend a lot of time there.
"Look at that beautiful bunny rabbit Tyler!" exclaimed Susan loudly.
I is for including others. At school you will have friends, and people you don't know. While hanging out with your friends is fun, it's also good to include everyone no matter if you know them or not. Just think how you would feel if someone left you out.
"Hey George, do you want to build blocks with me?" said Hanah during recess.
J is for jumping jacks. During the school day, you will most likely have gym class. Gym class is a great opportunity to run, jump, and play around with your friends. It's also an important way you get your exercise and stay healthy.
K is for kindness. Kindness is putting other's needs and feelings before your own desires. Its helping your friends, being selfless and respectful towards everyone. Being kind at school will not only make other's days better but make your day better too.
"Wait Kyle, let me help you out real quick," said Bob.
L is for learning. The main objective of the school day is for you to learn. Learning comes in many different shapes and sizes but is one of the most important things you can do.
M is for making new friends. School offers a unique opportunity to meet new people. Some of these people will become your new friends. And you never know, you may be friends with those people your whole life. Activities like recess, lunch and gym class are great places to start up new relationships.
"Hey, can I sit with you guys?" Jeremy asked on the first day of lunch.
N is for never giving up. There are going to be many times that you fall short of your goals in school, but whether that's a bad grade on a test, a broken friendship, or just a bad day, you should never give up. Things will get better, and if you persevere you will be so glad you did.
O is for opportunities. In school, you are given many opportunities to try new things. Things like clubs, sports teams, and the band are great options to see what you enjoy and excel at.
P is for preparedness. Being prepared is an essential part of your school journey, and will set you up to succeed. Having your supplies, enough energy, and your lunch are all examples of things you need to be prepared.
Q is for questions. Asking questions is a great way to connect with your teacher, gain understanding, and show that you are paying attention. Make sure you raise your hand and wait to be called on though, interrupting is rude, and can hinder fellow students learning.
