The sun

The Sun has a diameter of approximately 1.39 million kilometers (864,000 miles). The Sun is primarily composed of hydrogen. Near the equator, the Sun completes one rotation in about 24.5 Earth days. The sun is covered in sunspots solar flares and solar prominences.
