Geography is the study of how living things and humans interact with their habitat.
Latitude: the measure of distance north or south from the Equator (0 north/south)
Longitude: distance east or west from the Prime Meridian(0 east/west)



Economics
Economics is understanding how goods and services are produced, provided, and traded.
The different kinds of economies are:
command: The government controls what is bought and sold
market: based on supply and demand mostly run by the people
traditional: based on bartering trading and farming.
mixed: Any combination of market and command economies.



Government is the system of rules and the people who make and make them.
the three branches of the US government are
legislative: they have the senate and the house of Representatives, which make the law's executive
: the president and the vice president. the executive branch enforces the laws of the United States
judicial: they judge whether a law follows the constitution and sets the meaning of the laws.

Egypt: The ancient Egyptian civilization I one of the most famous civilizations in history, they were also one of the first civilizations. They believed in many gods and built pyramids and many complex tombs for their leaders, known as pharaohs. They had a
writing system is known as hieroglyphics.



Age of Empires
Dynasty: A dynasty is when one family rules a country or region for many years.
China: These were the Shang, Zhou, Qin, and Han Dynasties. During this time china made advances in math, art, technology, trade, and farming
Africa: Most people were Muslim (following the Islamic faith). gold was plentiful and the kings were incredibly rich.
Islam: A period where science, culture, technology, education, and art expanded through the Islamic empire.
The Mongols: A nomadic Asian group that was led by genghis khan and were fierce conquerors.




colonization
colonization: When one country takes over another making settlements or colonies to control the area and/or gain riches.
In Africa: Colonization in Africa started in the 1880s and was a time of colonial expansion in Africa. The European nations fought for areas in Africa to colonize.
In India: In 1858 the British took control of India and ruled for 89 years. They divided India into provinces.
