Being aware of your own biases and perspectives is important when working with people. It is the first step toward the openness which is needed to make meaningful connections.

Sometimes all that another person needs is for you to be there. Physically taking the time to be there for a person who needs you is a way for you to build trust.

is for caring.

In order to successfully lead a group of individuals, it's vital that you care about their experiences and truths.
is for deconstruction.

Being able to break down your own understanding of another person's perspective and subtract personal beliefs in order to share in the moment is a great way to connect.
is for emotions.

Remember that it is important to validate a person. Connect with them and really feel what they are feeling to develop a solution. Remember not to make this about you, but about them.
is for flexibility.

Being flexible in the way that you can think about different scenarios and perspectives is the key to understanding all scenarios. A good leader will look at all possibilities.
is for gratitude.

Understand that everyone has a purpose in your life and in others. Be grateful that each person you are leading is a part of your journey and that you are a part of theirs.
is for humility.

Show those around you that you are human. We all make mistakes, get emotional, need a day or someone to talk to. Give yourself room to breath and lead that by example.
is for important.

Every person has a story. Every perspective is important.
is for journey.

Value the journey that people are on and the path that they may take to get to their destination. Each person's journey is different and will have obstacles that are not like another's.
is for kindness.

In a world where anyone can be anything, be kind. It's the simplest think you can do for a person, makes a huge impact and will be contaigous. While leading, this example is definitley one that will be followed.
is for lessons.

There is something that can be learned from every experience you encounter AND that others around you face. Learn from all of these experiences and lead with wisdom.
is for memory.

It's not enough just to listen. You must remember the shared views and experiences that your team presents. Without this commitment to memory, it will be ingenuine.
is for needs.

Your team will have different needs based on many factors. Be willing to meet them where they are and understand the different needs.
is for opposition.

You or your team members may have opposing views and values on different topics. When facing these views head-on, it is possible to recognize an opportunity to compromise and learn from one another.
is for promises.

Be intentional with your words. Promises are big and easy to make during high-emotion conversations. Do not promise things that you cannot deliver. Be inentional about your words.
