Umi and her two friends Romeo and Sasha all met up at the local park. They all wanted to go on an adventure around the neighborhood they lived in. Once each of the arrived they all talked about what they wanted to do. Sasha was the first one to speak up and mention that the skies looked really dark and it looked like it was going to thunder soon. The sky was getting dark and the clouds were gray and heavy. "Hey guys, I think we should wait until it's nicer outside." said Sasha.

"You know what, I think you're right Sasha." said Romeo.  "Maybe we should wait for another day when it's not going to rain."

Umi took a minute and thought about what they were saying. She looked up at the sky and saw the dark clouds getting closer and closer together. Then out of nowhere, a loud clap of thunder rumbled through the sky, making all of them jump and scream. "Ahhhhh. Yeah, I think you guys are right. We should wait until another day to go on our adventure." said Umi.

As they each decided they would meet up the next day, it started pouring down rain soaking Umi, Sasha, and Romeo.

"Bye guys, I'll see you tomorrow. We can all decide what we want to do and where we can go on our vacation," said Umi. And with that, everyone took off running towards their homes.

Once Umi made it back home, she changed clothes and sat in front of the window watching the rain come down. Umi took a moment and started thinking about what she wanted to do while she sat in the house. 

"What can I do while I sit in the house?" Umi thought out loud. "I got it! I can make a tent indoors and pretend that I'm camping out."

Umi made her fort and then started grabbing her favorite snacks to have in her tent. Once she was all settled she sat back and realized she forgot to get her favorite book. 'Horton Hears A Who' by Dr Seuss. She was finally all settled in and ready to enjoy her time in her fort.
