Once upon a time there was a droplet that lived in the Caribbean Sea. It was a hot and sunny place. The droplet and its friends were playing and dancing with the sea’s waves and they liked to roll around and cover themselves with salt.
But, one very sunny and hot day, the droplet and its friends began to feel like they were floating and that they had become smaller, so much that they could not see each other anymore.
¿Have you ever seen this happen to water?
They did not know why, but they really were flying. It was fun! Many drops of water were doing this: bigger ones, smaller ones and many of them.
One of them realized that they were no longer covered in salt.
What was happening? Was that magic? What do you think?
The most curious of the droplets wanted to know.
An old drop explained to her that when a drop is very very hot, it transforms and changes from a liquid to a gas, that is, it becomes vapour and floats.
It is called evaporation.
It was very fun!
What happens when you shower?
What happens when you heat water in a saucepan?
Or when they give you a glass of very hot milk?
Do you know what this is? Have you ever seen this?
Do you see some kind of smoke coming out?
It is true that that day the sun was shining very brightly!
They all went up to the sky and could see the mountains, the lands, the fields, the little cows, the children. They could also see the sea, but it was very far away.
The weather began to change and it was not so hot anymore, so everyone crowded together and... poof!!! They had formed a cloud!

What do you think happened? Do you know how clouds are formed?
The same old drop that talked to them before explained to them that when they crowd together something called condensation occurs. This happens when the weather is cold and all the droplets gather together and form a cloud.

Suddenly the wind blew and blew and kept blowing.
The drop realizes that they were not in the Caribbean anymore, they were sailing across the seas, crossing mountains and rivers, and sometimes other drops could be seen evaporating and forming more clouds. There were a lot of clouds now and they were getting bigger.
The wind blew again, it continued to blow until it took them to Granada, a city in Spain where it was very cold. There they stopped moving.
