
Who are the Miami Heat?
The Miami Heat is a basketball team based in Miami, Florida that plays in the National Basketball Association. The Heat is one of two NBA teams from Florida. The team can easily be distinguished through its red, black, and white team colors. This franchise has also seen a lot of success and owes some of it to the team's culture and determination.

How was the Heat established?
The Miami Heat came to be back in 1988. The NBA was looking to expand the league by creating more team across the country and Miami, Florida was luckily selected as a city to bring an NBA team. Other teams formed around this time are the Orlando Magic, Charlotte Hornets, and the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Heat debuted on November 5, 1988 versus the LA Clippers.

Three years that symbolize greatness for the franchise. The Miami Heat have been NBA champions on three occasions. The first versus the Dallas Mavericks in 2006 led by Dwyane Wade. The team went back-to-back for their next two championships in the Big 3 era.




Home to the Heat
The Miami Heat have held two different home arenas in their history. The Heat first played in the Miami Arena from 1988 to 1999. Since 2000, the Heat call home the arena that is currently named the Kaseya Center. The Kaseya Center holds 20,000 fans and can get very loud on game days!

Who is in charge?
Micky Arison is the Heat's majority owner. Pat Riley is the team's president and is one of the most respected individuals in NBA history. The Heat's head coach is Erik Spoelstra, who is regarded as one of the association's best!


Heat Culture - What is it?
Heat Culture is a term that has come to be associated in the NBA with the Miami Heat. It encapsulates the team's hard work, teamwork, discipline, tough defense, resillience, and accountability. The culture standard is set primarily by Pat Riley and Erik Spoelstra. This system is a large part of the Miami Heat's identity in the league.

Rivals
Aside from rivaling all NBA teams, the Heat hold some extra grudge against some specific teams.
These include the Orlando Magic, Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, and the Milwaukee Bucks.


The Big Three
The Big Three was composed of Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, and Chris Bosh. This trio is regarded as one of the best in the league's history. Together, they were able to win two championships for the Heat. The Big 3 left a lasting impact as it shifted the league's star player landscape.
