This book's purpose is to reflect on my time in the Digital Tech for the School Library class at Sam Houston State University LMS program.
Can't wait to take what I've learned and share it with students! This is for them <3

10 Awesome Assignments
Over the course of the semester, we had 10 blog posts required, with a few additional assignments. Each assignment was engaging, informative and incredibly beneficial to my future not only as a librarian, but as an educator in general. I have already shared some of the resources with others, but I look forward to continuing to share tech tips and tricks with my peers.
9 Magical Modules
Each module had something new and exciting to learn. The most difficult assignment was probably the Animoto assignment. Not because it was difficult to complete the book trailer– that was actually a ton of fun– but because I couldn’t get the free educator account to work. I’m still bummed. Hopefully I can get it to cooperate in the future!
8 Memorable Moments
It’s been fun to work with others throughout the entire LMS program, but I especially enjoyed working with Rick to create the podcast and copyright infographic. Rick is super creative and knowledgeable with podcasts, and I hope to create mini podcasts with my students during the library during my internship this spring.
7(+) Relevant Resources
The amount of resources I have found and used during this semester has been phonomenal. I was already familiar with Canva, but I found new ways to use Canva and other sites for infographics, presentations, storybook creation (like this one!) and so many more. The assignment I think will be most beneficial to students in the library is the Animoto/QR code resources. I plan to have students read and recommend their favorite book or a new book to students via QR codes so students have ideas of what to look for if they prefer certain topics. I can’t wait to put it into action!
6 Exciting Environmental Scans
The most interesting blog post assignment was the Environmental Scan where I learned a ton about my current city and school district that I’m using on a daily basis. It’s helped shape the way I interact with my students, my perception of the region where I live and my passion for research. As a military wife, I’ve bookmarked the 6+ sites I used to analyze my new home/region when we move after my husband’s current duty station.
