I feel that this was an amazing semester that has given me so much confidence and excitement. I was a little nervous going into this semester because I don’t feel super confident with using technology (especially what is new and trendy) so I wasn’t sure how this semester would go. But I felt that this was such an eye opening and empowering experience. I was definitely pushed outside my comfort zone but I also felt enabled to try and create. I think that was an overall experience because I obviously learned a lot but I think it also gave me the perspective of what my future students might be feeling and how I want to approach teaching them new technologies and the opportunities that I give them. I feel that the content we learned here will all be extremely helpful to us as librarians. I am excited to start as a librarian in the fall and be more comfortable and confident to incorporate technology into my library.
Overall Reflection

I was most excited to learn more about creating infographics. I feel like the ways that we can use these (I liked Canva the best) are limitless. We can create to teach our students, educate the staff and communities and more. We can teach our students to use these tools to show their learning and expand it as well. I’ve been able to use this new skill in other grad school classes and in my current teaching job. I feel like there are unlimited ways that I can use these (and the other tools on Canva) in the library and beyond. I felt like it was easy to work with, which is great for me since I still feel a little overwhelmed by technology.

I found podcasting to be the most “difficult”. It was the one that pushed me outside my comfort zone the most. It was a great experience but I’m still not sure it’s the technology for me. It also felt the least user friendly in the sense that most people who are trying to make a podcast are there to do it all the way. There weren’t a lot of free/easy to use options for people like me who want to dabble in it. I felt the least excited after completing that module. But I am glad that I have had the chance to try it out and see what all it entails. Down the line, I feel it could be a great way to spread information and also let students express themselves.
