The Fredonian Rebellion were two brothers Haden Edwards and Ben Edwards! They got mad that the people living in Nacogdoches  did not have any documents and can't pay new land grants, and that the Mexican Government sided with them. They did things that caused the Mexican Government to think about the immigration policies they created. The things they did were, not converting to catholicism and they brought slaves. When the government took away their land grant, they started a new nation inside Mexico. That is a BIG NO NO!!

This report is like the Rubi Report. The Mexican Government sent Mier y Teran to inform them about what is going on in Texas. He met Stephen F. Austin and talked to him about what the Anglos are upset about. He said that they were not loyal, they did not follow the laws, they kept their American Culture, and their influence decreased. He recommended to bring military and officials, Mexican trade needs to increase, American Trade needs to decrease, and more Mexicans need to live in Texas.

Sir, the Anglos are not doing what you have wanted them to do. I have a few recommendations if you don't mind.

LAW OF APRIL 6, 1830

After the report, the government took action. They created the law of April 6, 1830. This law made many Texans upset because the law said that there is no more U.S. Immigration allowed, no more slaves, and more taxes on U.S. Imports. The Anglos were very upset about more taxes on U.S Imports because they needed it. They also said that they are going to suspend empresario contracts. Note that this excludes Stephen F. Austin and Green De Witt.

General, take this paper and send it to the military in Texas, and tell them to make sure the Anglos/Texans follow the laws.

This event happened in the area of Galveston Bay! A Mexican Colonel named Bradburn who is a citizen and member of the Mexican Army arrested William B. Travis and Jack because they tricked him into thinking there was an uprising happening.This caused a big argument and fight with the federalists (Believed sharing power between states and national governments) and the Centralists

 (believed in a strong central government). Men came and tried to talk it out to free them, but it did not work, so they attacked.

TURTLE BAYOU RESOLUTIONS

These colonists wanted a resolution. They wanted to say that they were loyal to Mexico and supported the constitution. They also supported Santa Anna. This protest was the 1st organized protest to happen. This event helped the settlers be with the federalist cause. Think of this protest as a turtle's shell.

We support you Santa Anna!

CONVENTION OF 1832 + 1833

The years 1832 and 1833, the colonists held a convention. In 1832, they formed a big plan on their concern with the government, so they said they said that they want Coahuila y TX to become separate states and they want the immigration law repealed. This was illegal so they did not tell the government. In 1833, they said the same thing, but they had help from Stephen F. Austin. Stephen went and told Santa Anna who allowed the immigration law to be repealed, but did not support the separate states.These conventions were located in San Felipe de Austin.

We need to make a plan! We should divide Coahuila y TX into separate states and get the immigration law repealed! Who's with me??
