The Legend of Santa Claus

Once upon a time, in a land known today as Turkey, there was a little boy named Nicolae. From an early age, Nicolae stood out for his faith, kindness and love for his peers, especially for children, performing many extraordinary things, true miracles.

The story of Grandfather Nicolae says that, at the age of adolescence, Nicolae inherited a very large fortune, but he did not know what to do with it. Being a very compassionate person, his greatest desire was to help those less fortunate than himself, so he tried to turn their dreams into reality.

 Although Nicolae knew very well that the inhabitants of his town were in great need of help, he was also aware of the fact that they were very proud and would not readily accept his help, so he decided to help his friends secretly. Every night, Nicolae disguised himself and delivered food, clothes and money to the people of the village.

Among all the people he helped, Nicolae got close to a specific family. In this very poor family, there were three sisters. The father of the girls was very sad because, due to the lack of money, he could not afford to marry all three of his daughters. Wishing with all his heart to help this family, near the wedding of the eldest daughter, Nicolae left a small bag of gold coins at the father's door. As expected, the family was overjoyed when they discovered the bag at the door. When the time came for the second daughter to get married, Nicolae threw a small bag of gold coins into the basket of the house where the needy family lived.
