There was a mother who had a son. They lived alone. He loved her dearly. The boy went hunting. Mother ordered:
- Son, son. You can shoot on all the mountains, but don't shoot on the Kuchedra mountain. Because the dog is very bad, son, it eats and devours you. Many brave men have gone there and never returned...
The boy didn't listen to his mother, but he listened to his heart's desire.
She told him:
- Brave, don't you love me, don't hunt on any mountain, alone on the mountain of the hunting dog!

The brave man loved a beautiful girl very much and he never broke his word. So, he got up and went hunting on Kuchedra mountain.
As soon as he got up there, the ground began to shake, with all the stones and wood. There came before us a great beast with seven heads and seven horns, with eyes like burning torches, with a mouth like a cave, with wings on its back like the wings of a bat, but very large. It blew yellow smoke and flames from its mouth. This flame burned the grass, flowers, bushes. He tried his tail three times and there was a big earthquake.

The boy was not afraid: he put the arrow in the bow. The arrow went off, whistled but did nothing to the dog. He hit him with a spear, but even the spear did nothing to him.

He drew his sword, but the kucedra let out a shriek so strong that the sword fell from his hand. So the brave man was left in front of the kuchedra without arrows, without a spear, without a sword. Kucedra laughed loudly, approached him, lit him with fire and said:

- Now I will eat, boy, because you stepped on my mountain. Have you not heard that he who steps on this mountain does not remain alive? Many other brave men have come here before you, and I have eaten them all. I will eat you too, get ready.
- My goddamn goddamn god, I see that you want to eat me. It was really very strong. I'm begging you for just one thing: let me go all the way home to ask my mother for her dying wish. Then I'll come back here for you to eat me.
- What will you give me if I let you go?
- I will give you my promise!
- Okay, I promise you, go.
The boy promised the kucedra, went down the mountain, went straight to the house and said to his mother:
- Lady mother, I was caught by a dog on its mountain while I was hunting and now it will eat me. I promised her that I would come back and she let me go. Now forgive the wish of death because it is going to eat me. The mother let go of the horse: cried, mumbled:
- Son, oh son! Why did you have to go to Kučedra mountain?
Why didn't you listen to me? Dont go!
- No, mother, I will go, because I have promised the dog.
