Are you curious about what interesting places are in Orhei District?

The Court of Orhei - the monument of history and architecture of the XXth century. It is the former house of doctor and solicitor Mihai Coteanu, director of the magazine „Fratia Romaneasca” of Orhei (periodical edition, 1919-1940). After World War II the building hosted the Executive Committee of the People’s Deputies of Orhei. In the 90ths the building was ceded to the Court of Orhei district.

The „Sfantul Nicolae" cathedral is located in the town center. It was built at the beginning of the XXth century and has a tragic story. The cathedral was partially destroyed during World War II. During the USSR, the sacred building was transformed into a storage facility and then into a sports school. Only after 1990 was the “Sf. Nicolae” cathedral restored and re-opened for the parish.

The Orhei Museum of History and Ethnography is located inside a house with an ornate gate, a former villa that belonged to the Romanian architect Mircea Bengulescu. The building represents a historical heritage of undeniable value for the entire Romanian nation, built in neo-Romanian style (1928-1929), being an architectural monument of national importance, included in the State Register of Monuments of the Republic of Moldova

Saint Demetrius Cathedral is the oldest religious place in Orhei and one of the oldest in the country, Saint Demetrius Cathedral was built between 1632 and 1636 and consecrated on the occasion of the ruler's arrival in Orhei in 1637.

The church is part of the National Heritage, being one of the most important ecclesiastical buildings preserved until now. 

Orheiland is the most grandiose cultural family amusement park in Moldova. The park as well as the white-sand beach lake, have become a wonderful place to relax, especially during the heat. The area is also popular because the entrance to the OrheiLand amusement park is free, the beach is spectacular and you do not have to pay for the sun lounger. Cafe, Bar, and parking is available. Curchi Monastery is one of the most important architectural monuments of Bessarabia, and it is also considered to be one of the most beautiful and famous monasteries in the region. It is located in the Orhei forest near Curchi village, approximately 14 km southwest of the town of Orhei. The monastery has a rich religious and cultural past spanning more than two centuries. It was founded in 1773-1775 and became one of the richest, most beautiful, and largest monasteries in Moldova.
