Orhei 

The town of Orhei is a locality in Orhei District located at latitude 47.3830 logitude 28.8230 and altitudine of 82 meters above sea level.This locality is administered by Orhei District..According to the 2004 census,the population is 25 641 inhabitants.The direct distance to the town of Chișinău it is 36 km.

History

Orhei has a rich history dating back to ancient times.It has been inhabited by various peoples over time,including Dacians,Romans,and Tatars.In the Middle Ages,Orhei was an important commercial and cultural center under the rule of the Ărincipality of Moldavian and the Ottoman Empire.Later,in the 19th century,it became part of the Russian Empire,and then was integrated into the Soviet Union.After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991,Orhei became part of Moldova and continued to be an important regional center.
