There was a 6 grade boy named Edward who was very successful, brilliant and hard-working. His grades were all perfect. His parents were working in well-paid jobs and funding him whenever he wanted to eat or go outside. They got him presents on birthdays, report card days and special holidays. They took him to hotels on holidays. Indulged by his parents he became wayward and coddled person. Because of his high grades he started thinking himself superior than his friends. He started to belittle his classmates and look them with disdain. Over times, he started losing his friend because of his egoist behaviour. He became lonely and isolated. His grades were still great, but he was sad and alone.

Years passed and now Edward is a 10 grade high school student. He is a teen who had a lot of troubles in friendships for years and learnt some lessons. He had lots of fights with his friends in middle school. When he became a high school student, he hoped for a fresh new start for 9 grade as he was in a different school with different students inside. But his attitude and behaviour haven’t changed much. And as a result, he fell out with his new classmates. He had a hideous year and his grades had decreased. Therefore, he wanted to change his school and his parents did as their child wanted. But he also had a lot of quarrels with his parents because of this change of school. Now he feels very lonely but he hopes to build great friendships and repair the relationship with his parents.

The first day of the school came and Edward was very excited and also worried. He entered the class, there were students who sat down already. He asked to a seated student if he could sit next to her. After the reply which was yes, he sat down and waited. Students were continuously coming and the bell rang. After the bell sound has ended, two more students came and a teacher came after them. Teacher introduced himself and every student started to introduce oneself ordinately. Edward also introduced himself and the first lesson ended. In the breaktime he tried to talk with some of his classmates. He managed made some acquaintance with a bunch of students. Lessons and breaks have passed and the first day ended.

Next day, he went to school with a higher level of confidence and happiness. He talked and chatted with his new friends. Everything was going very fine. After lessons, when he comes back home, he would talk about his day to his parents. His parents were happy that Edward’s friendships were improving. They also tried to make Edward happy, confident and motivated to help his cause further. The first week was full of lessons with conversations and chit chats, not with mathematics, science or literature. So, he found a lot of time to build and improve friendships. He was trying to be nice and kind. And his friends responded to his kindness as such. He became more and more happy, warm, confident, friendly as he tried not to do the things that he had done before. He was proud of himself like his parents were.

One week full of rejoicing had passed. Now, Edward’s friendships were not like new and fresh but more like settled and stable. He was more sincere to his friends and his friends noticed something about him. He was acting shy and unsociable sometimes. His friends were trying to help him, they would acquaint him with students in other classes but he would act very withdrawn when he was entering to another classroom. Also, on the last day of the first week, some of Edward’s classmates went to a café and invited Edward but he rejected and gave a reason which was obviously a lie because of his shyness and diffidence. His friends talked together about Edward that they should go outside with him to break his fear. Edward was also trying to overcome this problem and he discussed the situation with his parents.

Thefirst day of the second week’ came along with plans for Edward which he wasn’t aware of. There was a zoo just 200 metres away from school. And his friends all talked on a staged conversation to invite and make Edward come with them before his arrival to the school. When he came to school, they just greeted him like they did in the first week and chit chatted. After two lessons have passed, his friends started to implement their plan. One of them started talking with Edward as normal and the other came and he said that there was a zoo which they could go after school today. Before letting Edward react, the others came and started discussing on going to zoo after school and they agreed to go and the bell rang. Next breaks, they tried not to open any conversations about going to zoo and when the lessons ended, they took Edward and went to the zoo.

At the zoo, they had a lot of fun. Edward also had a lot of fun and he felt himself like in a real friend group for the first time. Zoo was a fun place to spend time but it was not interesting after 30 minutes so they decided to go to a café just next to the zoo. They chit chatted, drank coffees, ate sweets and left the café to return their homes. When Edward returned home, he was very tired but also very happy. He had a great conservation with his parents about his day and then, he slept. This was just a beginning of a chain with included going to cinemas, amusement parks, theatres, game arcades, and maybe zoos.

These friendships weren’t all made up of conversation and doing outside activities together. He became friends with a boy named David who liked mind games and especially chess, like himself. Later on, David also joined to the friend group that Edward was in and soon they became best friends. His friends loved him and he loved them. He was very happy. Being a good person was very suitable for him. Later on, he would start to visit old age asylums and hospitals. He would join some projects; he would try to help people in need.

This was a story of a boy named Edward who was a successful but a bad-charactered person which became a person with a lot of friends, social activities, kindness and happiness. Not just his friends and parents helped, but he himself noticed his attitude and he tried to fix it and he managed to fix it. He changed his life’s negative direction to a totally positive one. We hope that every teen who may be lost would find the way like Edward did.
