Technology and our local society

As highlighted in an RSA animated story, the lack of significant improvements in online learning is shocking, especially considering the diverse ways in which individuals approach education and absorb knowledge. Despite the necessity to address these issues positively, meaningful efforts seem to have been lacking. RSA Animate: Changing education paradigms [youtube] oct 14, 2010 [video]
It's clear that education, particularly the way process knowledge, varies greatly among individuals. Therefore, it's crucial to invest more effort in developing online learning platforms that cater to this diversity. Customization and personalization should be prioritized to provide tailored learning experiences that suit different learning styles and preferences.
Some interactive and collaborative tools can enhance engagement among students, facilitating deeper understanding and retention of the course material. Furthermore, pursue accessibility to online course design is essential to create inclusive learning environments where all students can succeed.

Although online courses have been available for a while now, the statistics show that they have not been particularly successful for students that wish to advance their careers for higher credits.
One of the main reasons could be attributed to the high amount of students that take each course.

What about me:
At first I was hesitant; law had always being interesting to me, my sister studied law back home, but at that time everyone else in my family, including myself, had chosen a career either on Accounting or in the Finance area. I had already worked as an accounting assistant during my first years of university in El Salvador.
I recognize the platforms for formal education compared to the ones like MOOC are completely different and the quality of education is rather obvious; but if technology had not reached the levels it did at that time, studying while at home may had not been an option at all.
