Hey! Do you want learn about three different 

animals. If you do then read on to learn about 

lions, polar bears and horned puffins then your 

in for some fun facts and other important 

facts. Some facts are going to be like where 

they live, what they eat and how they live in 

their habitat. You are going to learn a lot of 

new facts or maybe some already know. These 

animals are amazing once learn about them, 

so let's go.

Lions are king of the jungle and are the second 

biggest cats in the world. Male lions can weigh about 

180 k or 400 lbs while the female lions are about 

130 k or 290 lbs. Lions can get speeds of about 81 

kph or 50 mph in short bursts. The roar of a lion can 

be heard from about 8 kilometers away or 5 miles. 

Most lions can be found in the southern and eastern 

parts of Africa. In the wild, lions rest for about 20 

hours a day. Did you learn anything new? I hope so, 

anyways onto the Horned Puffins! 

Horned puffins may look a lot like penguins but 

they are different in a few ways. They can fly 

because they need to dive for fish. Horned Puffins 

live in colonies on islands and coastlines in 

Alaska. They spend most of their time on the 

high seas of the Pacific. Horned Puffins eat 

capelin, squid, krill and silversides. They dive 

about 80 feet below the surface to get their food. 

I you learned even more new facts, onto the 

polar bears! 

Polar bears live in the Arctic For their food supply 

and temperature. The main food source of polar 

bears is various types of seals. Polar bears have 

no predator because they are at the top of the 

food chain. Polar bears can weigh between 900-

1,600 lbs. Polar bears are the largest land 

predators. I hope you learned something new 

about polar bears.
