David is a very bad boy in 2nd grade. He lies, steals, and bullies.

One day, he meets Lucy, and he gets a crush on her. So, he tells her, but Lucy doesn't like him back because he is bad.
I like you, do you like me?
No! You are a bad person!

David is angry and he leaves. He starts walking back home.

How can she say no!

On his way home, he goes to the store. He steals chips and a man stops him. The man called himself a Buddhist monk.

The monk teaches him about Right Behavior and how it's not okay to steal. David carefully listens to him and puts the chips back.

Buddhism is a religion that people believe. In Buddhism, there are 8 ways to be happy, one of them is called Right Behavior. You should be good and kind to others. You should not hurt others, or take things that aren't ours (Ranallo). This makes sure everyone is happy. When everyone is happy, you will be happy. Doing this well help you find peace in yourself.
Wow!
He continues to walk home, but on his way home, he is blocked by somebody. A little boy is standing in his way.

So, David pushes him out of the way.
The little boy cries to his mom. The boy's mom comes over and asks David,
"Did you push my son?"
"No," replies David.
A man walks over to them and taps David on the shoulder.

Did you push my son!
NO! I didn't!
He called himself a Christian Priest. Then, he teaches David about one of the Ten Commandments. Telling him it's not good to tell lies.

In Christianity, there are rules called the Ten Commandments. They are there to protect us from evil. One of them is, 'Thou shall not bear false witness'. This means that you should not tell lies. Telling lies is not good because if you tell too much, no one will believe you when you are telling the truth. You will be hurt by the lie and so does the person you lie to ("Understanding").

After the Priest finishes talking, the mom asks David if he pushed her child. David, who learned his lesson, tells the truth!

Did you push my son?
Yes I did, I'm sorry.

David continues his walk home. He sees his classmate, Billy, on his way home.
David likes bullying Billy because he thinks it will make him cool and get friends. This makes Billy sad, so he cries.
