To the two people who I never once compared to each other

When I was in fifth grade, I had one best friend named Madison
She was my idol during the time we spent together.

She always had the coolest toys that were the newest to share.
It's like she had a bag like Mary Poppins, the toys were nonstop coming out of her bag!

It was fun playing with her, but she was always bossy and careless with me.
Carry my books for me. Don't be late to my next class either.

As I quietly worked, I met a new girl in my tech class
She was so pretty, I thought she was an angel sent from heaven itself at first!
Hi, I'm Rhoina!

She cared about my feelings like she was a mom.

Rhoina was the sweetest person I had every encountered!

When Madison came back from her break, she noticed me playing with someone she did not know. Especially in the Pavillion, where the two of us would always play at.

Her question surprised me, but in a weird way. As if no one else was allowed to talk to me but her.
Hi Cristal... Who's this..?

I responded back to her quickly, excited to see her again. I was so happy fro the both of them to finally meet.
Oh, Madison! Hello, nice to see you back! This is Rhoina, a friend of mine!

Rhoina waved and said hello nicely, but I noticed Madison was not interested at all. Instead, she looked more upset.

She snapped rapidly, which made me and Rhoina flinch. I didn't think it would be that big of a problem.
Well, she's not me. So, she can find someone else!

I asked her a simple question, hoping she was joking for once. It did not end things for well as I thought it would...
I see you both as best friends? Why can't you see that?

Her response made me realize maybe I was the bad person for not knowing. I glanced at Rhoina, her face all serious like she had to say something.
You can't have two best friends. It's the rule!

Well, you clearly need a new friend. You treat her like a pet!
Rhoina made Madison realize that she was replaced. She stayed appaled for a minute, like a statue.
