"This is your daughter, Persephone," said the nurse. Demeter was overjoyed! She finally had a child! On that day, she swore that she would never let anything hurt Persephone. Ever.

When Persephone was six, she spent an entire day under the sea. Her mom was furious and shouted at her.
3 Years
Later...

"Demeter," said Hestia. "Hestia," said Demeter. "Auntie!" said Persephone. "Come on, Auntie! Let's go to my birthday party!" said Persephone. Hestia smiled. Her niece was always so excited. She followed her niece to a grand room. Hestia was the last guest to arrive.

"Happy Birthday Persephone!" yelled everyone. Persephone seemed to smile at the crowd, but truly she was smiling at Hades. Hades was her boyfriend. Demeter tried her best to keep her daughter away from the prince of the Underworld, but she rarely succeeded. But little did Persephone know, the whole party was a setup breakup. And it wasn't that long after Persephone opened Hades present that the plan was set into motion.

To be clear, what Hades actually got her was a pink frock. But what was in the box was different. It was a skull. Persephone screamed and dropped the skull immediately. Hades came over to console her, but she kicked him. Then Ares ran over and fought Hades back with his sword. Hades ran while Ares comforted Persephone.
Nine Years
Later...

"Sweetie, you look wonderful! It is your last birthday as a child. Your boyfriend is coming soon." said Demeter. "Ares is coming to my 18th birthday?! Thank you Mom!" squealed Persephone. The last time she had a public birthday was on her 9th birthday. It was the same day she broke up with Hades. She didn't dwell on that though. She was about to become a full goddess!

"Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday-" everyone stopped singing. Lightning flashed and a boy stepped out of the shadows. Ares tried to protect Persephone, but he was struck and locked inside a glass coffin, asleep. "My darling Persephone." said the boy. "Hades?" said Persephone cautiously. She could barely see how this boy was Hades. But here he was. Then suddenly, Hades pointed his sword at her feet and with a flash the ground opened up around her and swallowed her up.

The Underworld. A place of despair. That is where Persephone landed. She lay shivering on the ground. Then she heard a river. She followed the sound and almost fell into Tartarus.
